                                          What is 'Navaratri'?  


Literally,' nava' means number nine and 'ratri' means night. Thus, 'Navaratri ' signifies a festival, which is celebrated for a period of nine nights. In certain areas, people fast on these days to worship the nine different incarnations of Maa Durga. They believe in each particular color dress/saree as good to be worn on each day of this 'Navaratri' festival, such as the following:

What is 'Dussehra'?


'Dus'  stands for the number ten. That means it's a ten day festival.

 It starts from 'pratipada', according to the Hindu calendar, the first day of the 'sukla' fortnight of 'Aswin' month, to the tenth day, that is 'dasami' or popularly known as 'Vijaya dasami'. It has been named 'Vijaya Dasami' to signify the importance of (vijay meaning victory), victory of good over evil.

Because, on that day,Lord Ram defeated the demon king 'Ravana'.


Though, Dussehra is celebrated across India every year; but the customs and practices vary from state to state. In the eastern states, it marks the end of Durga Puja, whereas, in northern and western states, it marks the end of Ramleela.

Thus, every locality in the country has its own uniqueness in the celebrations.

ଆଉ ମାତ୍ର କିଛି ଦିନ ବାକି ରହିଲା ଦଶହରା ପର୍ବ ପାଳନ ନିମନ୍ତେ | ଏହି ପର୍ବ ସାରା ଦେଶରେ, ବିଭିନ୍ନ ରାଜ୍ୟଗୁଡିକରେ, ଅତି ଯାକ ଯମକରେ ପାଳିତ ହୁଏ | ହିନ୍ଦୁ ତିଥି ଅନୁସାରେ ,  ଶରତ ଋତୁର ଆଶ୍ଵିନ ମାସ ଶୁକ୍ଳ ପକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରତିପଦା ଠାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇ ନବମୀ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ନବରାତ୍ରି ଓ ଦଶମୀ ଦିନ ବିଜୟା ଦଶମୀ ବା ଦଶହରା  ରୂପେ ସାରା ଦେଶର ପୁର ପଲ୍ଲୀରେ ଦୁର୍ଗ ପୂଜା ଖୁବ ଉତ୍ସାହର ସହିତ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଏ |

ଏ ବର୍ଷ ସେପ୍ଟେମ୍ବର ୨୯ ଠାରୁ  ଅକ୍ଟୋବର ୭ ତାରିଖ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ନବରାତ୍ରୀ ରୂପେ ପାଳନ ହେବ ଓ ଦଶମୀ ତିଥିରେ ଦଶହରା ବା ବିଜୟା ଦଶମୀ  ରୂପେ ପାଳିତ ହେବ | ମୋଟାମୋଟି ଭାବରେ କହିବାକୁ ଗଲେ, ଏହି ଦଶହରା ପର୍ବ ଦଶ ଦିନ ଧରି ଚାଲେ |

ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଦୃଢ ବିଶ୍ଵାସ ରହିଥାଏ ଯେ , ମା ଦୂର୍ଗା ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ଦୁଃଖନାଶିନୀ | ଏଣୁ, ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାର ସହ ଦେବୀଙ୍କୁ ପୂଜା କଲେ, ଉପାସକ ନବଶକ୍ତି ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇଥାନ୍ତି | ଶାରଦୀୟ ନବରାତ୍ରୀ କାଳରେ, ସାରା ଜଗତର ସମସ୍ତ ଗ୍ରହ ସକ୍ରିୟ ଥାନ୍ତି | ତେଣୁ ଶକ୍ତି ଉପାସକଙ୍କର କୌଣସି ଅନିଷ୍ଟ ହୁଏ ନାହି |



  ନାରୀ ଶକ୍ତି ରୁପିଣ ସିଂହ ବାହିନୀ ଦୂର୍ଗା ମାତାଙ୍କ ଉପାସନା ବିଭିନ୍ନ ସ୍ଥାନରେ, ଘରେ ଓ ବାହାରେ, ଦେବୀ ବା  ଶକ୍ତି ପୀଠଗୁଡିକରେ ହୋଇଥାଏ | ଅନେକ  ନବରାତ୍ରୀ ଉପଲକ୍ଷେ ଉପବାସ କରିଥାନ୍ତି | ନୂଆ ନୂଆ ପୋଷାକ ପିନ୍ଧି, ଲୋକେ ବୁଲି ବୁଲି ମଣ୍ଡପ ଗୁଡିକର ସାଜସଜ୍ଜା ଦେଖିବାଲାଗି ପିଲା ଛୁଆଙ୍କୁ ନେଇ ବୁଲି ବାହାରନ୍ତି ଓ ଆନନ୍ଦ ମନରେ ଘରକୁ ଫେରନ୍ତି |                                                                            
 ଆମ ଓଡିଶାରେ, କଟକର ଏହା ଏକ ପ୍ରଧାନ ପର୍ବ ଅଟେ | କଟକ ଦଶହରା ଚାନ୍ଦି ମେଢ ଲାଗି ବିଶ୍ଵ ବିଖ୍ୟାତ ଅଟେ | ଏଠାରେ ପୂଜା ସମୟରେ, ମେଧାଗୁଡିକୁ ଓ ମାଙ୍କ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିକୁ ରୂପର ଅଳଙ୍କାର  ଦ୍ଵାରା ସଜା ଯାଇଥାଏ  ।


































ପୂଜାବିଧି:

ଏହି ପୂଜା ପାଇଁ ଅନେକ ଆଗରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତି ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଥାଏ | ଯେପରିକି ଜନ୍ମାଷ୍ଟମୀ ତିଥିରେ, ନଦୀରୁ ମାଟି ଉଦ୍ଧ|ର କରାଯାଏ | ଏହା ହେଉଛି, ଦଶହରର, ପ୍ରଥମ ପୂଜା ବିଧି | ଏହା ପରେ, ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ଗଠନ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ | ବିଭିନ୍ନ ପୂଜା କମିଟି କରିଗରଙ୍କୁ ପାରିଶ୍ରମିକ ଦେଇ ମୂର୍ତିଗଢା କାମରେ ଲଗାନ୍ତି |                                                                            
                                                                                            
ପବିତ୍ର ମହାଳୟା ଶ୍ରାଦ୍ଧ ଅବସରରେ ମାଙ୍କ 
ମୃଣ୍ମୟ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତିରେ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଚଢା ଯାଏ | ପ୍ରକୃତ ଦୁର୍ଗା ପୂଜା ଏହି ଦିନଠାରୁ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଥାଏ | କାରଣ ଏହିଦିନରୁ ଦଶଦିନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦୁର୍ଗା ପୂଜା ଦଶମୀ ତିଥି କୁ ନେଇ ଦଶହରର ନାମକରଣ ହୋଇଛି | ମୁଖ୍ୟତଃ ଓଡିଆମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରକୃତ ପୂଜା ବିଧି ଷଷ୍ଠୀ ଠାରୁ ଦଶମୀ 
ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମିଳେ | 

 ଷଷ୍ଠୀ:   

ମାଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ଵାଗତ କରିବାକୁ ଯାଇ , ବେଲ ଗଛ ମୂଳେ, ବେଲ ବରଣୀ କରାଯାଇ ଷଷ୍ଠୀ ପୂଜା ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ କରାଯାଏ | ଶେଷରେ, ରାତ୍ରିକାଳରେ, ମାଙ୍କର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ଦାନ ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ହୁଏ | ମାଙ୍କ ଏହି ବିଶେଷ  ପୂଜା ବିଧିରେ କୌଣସି ଅବହେଳା ଘାତିଳେ, ଅଶୁଭ ହେବାର ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଥାଏ |

ସପ୍ତମୀ:

ସପ୍ତମୀରେ,  ନବପତ୍ରିକା ପୂଜା ନିମନ୍ତେ କଦଳୀ ଗଛକୁ ପୂଜା କରାଯାଏ ଓ ଏହାପରେ, ମହାସ୍ନାନ ବିଧି ସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ହୁଏ |

ଅଷ୍ଟମୀ:

ଏହି ଦିନ, ମାନକ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ସନ୍ଧି ପୂଜା ହୁଏ; ବଳି ଚଢା ଯାଏ | ଆଗରୁ ଜୀବନ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଣୀଙ୍କୁ ବଳି ଚଢାଇବାର ପ୍ରଥା ରହି ଆସିଥିଲା | କିନ୍ତୁ ଆଇନରେ ପରିବର୍ତନ ହେବାଯୋଗୁ ଆଜିକାଲି, କେବଳ ଲାଉ, ପାଣିକଖାରୁ, ବୋଇତିକଖାରୁ ଇତ୍ୟାଦି ବଳି ଦିଆଯାଉଅଛି | ଓଡିଶାରେ, ଏହିଦିନ, ସ୍ତୃଲୋକମାନେ ଶାଢୀ, ଫେଣୀ ଇତ୍ୟାଦି ଆଣି ମାନକ ପାଖରେ ଭୋଗ ଲଗାଇବାପରେ , ନୂଆ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପରିଧାନ କରନ୍ତି |

ନବମୀ:   

ଏହି ତିଥିରେ, ମାନକ ପାଖରେ, ମାଛ (ଆମିଷ) ଭୋଗ ହୋଇଥାଏ |    

 ଦଶମୀ: 

ଶେଷରେ, ମାଙ୍କ ପୂଜାର୍ଚ୍ଚନା ଅପରାଜିତା  ଫୁଲରେ କରାଯାଇ ଥାଏ |

Happy Independence Day

 INDEPENDENCE DAY  We should feel proud for our motherland India.  Needless to say that August 15 is celebrated as the Independence Day in Inia. Because it became independent on the 15th of August 1947. Many people fought for the freedom of our nation under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi.  Let's acknowledge the efforts and sacrifices of all our freedom fighters in making India free from the British rule.
