CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR

                    CHRISTMAS

The year is coming to an end.  It's time for celebrating Christmas and and welcoming the new year ahead. What is Christmas??
As we all know it's a great day for Christians to celebrate the day,  25th December,as Christmas. Because on this day Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem to mother Mary and father Joseph.
Not only Christians,  but people all over the world, are celebrating this occasion with great happiness/merry making. They wear new clothes, distribute sweets and mark the occasion with cake cutting.
Let's wish each other a merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance.

You can download the nice greetings images for wishing your friends. Thank you.

71st Republic Day, India ଭାରତୀୟ ଗଣତନ୍ତ୍ର ଦିବସ

71st Republic Day  As we know, India became free from British rule on 15th August, 1947. But its constitution came into effect from 26th January 1950.  It clearly declared India as a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic (as strictly against monarchy or dictatorship of any single person/ king/ dictator). After all, it's rule of the people,  by the people and for the people.  Hence, every year ,26th January is celebrated as the Republic Day of India, whereas Independence Day is celebrated on 15th August.  On Republic Day, flag hoisting ceremonies and parades by armed forces and school children are held in different parts of the country.  However,  the grand parade is held at Rajpath, New Delhi,  which showcases the country's rich cultural heritage and military prowess. This parade is presided over by the President of India, whereas, on the occ...

"Deepavali" - What, when and how? ଦୀପାବଳି ଉତ୍ସବ ପାଳନ

DEEPAVALI/DIWALI What, when and how? Do you know, what is a 'deep'? It means a 'diya' or an earthen lamp. 'Deepavali' is the plural form of 'deep' or it refers to a collection of 'deeps'/'diyas'/earthen lamps. On 'Amavasya' or no moon light, people of 'Ayodhya Nagari' celebrated the victory of Lord Ram over the demon king Ravana and welcomed Ram to their own city after 14 years' exile in the forest. People were so exited, that they lit lamps/diyas/deepavali (a collection of earthen lamps) and decorated them everywhere to remove darkness and spread light. There were no electricity at that time. So from this day onwards, 'Diwali' or 'Deepavali' is celebrated every year. India is known for its tremendous festivals and their celebrations with great fervor. Time has now ...
